“Social End-tity” by Likeme(N) Gertjan van der Linden

Collage Inspiration Damage
Photographer Gertjan van der Linden
1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
I am Likeme(N) by Gertjan van der Linden, I’m 23 and I live in a town called Drunen in the south of the Netherlands. I studied Fashion Design and graduated in 2011 from the HKU, Utrecht. My field of specialization is making warning-concepts, as I like to call it myself.
I try to preserve what’s left of the society, by warning them about several issues and by this giving the society the message to be on guard. Most of the time, I’m trying to do this by creating a combination of bitter truth and humor. Furthermore, I like to make textured designs and fashion illustration.

Introducing Peter Godijn

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Peter Godijn. I was born in the Netherlands in 1978 and I am currently working in Amsterdam as a fashion photographer. My interest in photography began at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam where I attended the film department.
This contrariness represents my believe that the most effective process is rarely the most obvious one. Having discovered photography, I assisted for a while before begining my own assignments. At this very moment, I’m focusing on progressive image-making projects and scripting story lines which reflect culture.

Lenka Sršňová: Every ‘bad girl’ needs her ‘bad boy’!

Theatrical Encounter by Juliette Bogers and Cynthia Jordens

Cut Away The Time Will Tell (fragment)
CUT AWAY THE TIME WILL TELL
Juliette Bogers & Cynthia Jordens

While I am reading J.D. Salingers’s A Perfect Day for Bananafish, sending a text message and, simultaneously, updating my status on facebook, I wonder; how do I use my time? And more specifically, how do I relate to the power of images and information to which I constantly expose myself and which is poured out on me?
The performance Cut Away The Time Will Tell is situated in a contemporary interior. The dancers represent fragments of scenes from a past which contours slowly, occasionally place a still frame around the present and try to get a grip at a future which is not yet defined.
Cut Away The Time Will Tell takes away from our contemporary visual culture which is dictated by velocity and visibility. But above all, seeks to make the most precious possession in modern society tangible: time.

Eef Middendorp gives life to ‘een klein wonder…’

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Eef Middendorp and my label is called “de l’eefstijl”. I was born, raised and still happy in Eindhoven.
Eindhoven is not really the most fashionable environment you can think of, but I believe in the ability of creating every little piece out of yourself. The risks of (unconscious) imitation are also not lurking here. Creating new and beautiful things in every kind of way feels like my mission here on earth. I like new experiences, concepts, shapes, images, stories and ways of doing business. Fashion is for me, but making a difference for humanity in this interesting world is the biggest challenge.

Kaspar Hamacher presents “Out of one piece”

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
Atelier Kaspar Hamacher Langestahl 5 Eupen Belgium. Designer, between art and craftsmanship.
By taking nature as my basis, is focused resolutely on physical rather than conceptual design. I feels more as a craftsman than a designer. The things I can do with wood appeal to the imagination: whether it is a tree stumper or a piece of leather, the key is authenticity in every step of my design process.

2. What inspires you as a designer/artist?
Simplicity, Nature, Function.
“The difference between the purely natural and the technologically produced can be clearly felt. There are things that cannot be copied such as the warmth of wood, the smell and touch of leather or the individuality; all that cannot be imitated.”

fORS - 2 visions brought together

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
We are Patricia Neubauer and Bettina Keller, two german fashion designers. We have been working together for a few years now in Amsterdam under the name fORS

2. Please walk us through the concept of your work.
The label’s creative base is founded in our two visions. Together we create fashion collections which embrace our differences and similarities resulting in conceptual garments that are both abstract and wearable. Friction between symmetry and asymmetry, bold uneven cuts and contrasts are the starting points for our designs. An essential and unique aspect of our garments is the adaptability of almost every piece. We aim to be ageless and timeless but with an extravagant sex appeal.

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Elvira ‘t Hart and I’m 23 years old. I graduated in 2011 from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in Fashion Design.

2. Where do you get your inspirations from?
A lot of inspiration comes from my own drawings. There is no real inspiration when I draw, mostly I draw just for the sake and love of drawing. Occasionally I’m really ‘designing’ while I draw or depicting a design that’s already in my mind.
Sometimes I see a drawing I made weeks ago without any purpose. After my initial surprise that I made it myself there's a sense of fascination. From there it grows into a new design or print.

I finished my master’s degree in Fashion design technology – woman’s wear- in London at the College of Fashion. I like tailoring, textile and handcrafted work as I’ve done in this collection.

2. Can you talk us through the concept of your collection?
This collection is a story of a girl, H. It followed the girl H’s changes from interactions with different types of men. The designs are mixed. Not only her self’s traits but also individual male traits are incorporated into the collection. This is the reason why the title is not a female but The feMALE.

I am Mylène van de Sande. I’m a Dutch fashion designer, educated in Rotterdam and currently living and working in Berlin.

The collection is based on ‘Plattenbau’. Plattenbau is the model of extreme architectonical simplicity. Monotony. The size and scale of the complete are of such, that details can be missed. Those flats were mainly build under communist regime and according to communism doctrine, were meant for the ideal human being.
This collection is designed with the same architectonical simplicity in mind, combined with influences of casual clothing. Just as the Plattenbau flats are all made out of concrete, the outfits will all be made out of the same white fabric, with screen printed color blocks.
